The Golf Course

The crown jewel of Jefferson is our spectacular Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed championship golf course, opened for play in 1992. Recognized as one of Jones’ most distinctive and challenging creations, the course blends excitement, beauty, and strategy into an unforgettable playing experience. Every round celebrates the artistry of its design and the natural beauty of its fairways.

A hallmark of Jefferson’s course is the contrast between its two nines:

The Heathland Front Nine

Inspired by the timeless links of Scotland, the front side features rolling mounds, expansive sightlines, and fescue grasses that sway with the wind, evoking the traditions of the game’s birthplace.

The Woodland Back Nine

A striking complement, the back nine showcases a more traditional American layout, weaving through mature forests, dramatic elevations, and natural terrain.

True to the Jones philosophy,

The course was constructed in harmony with its environment, offering both challenge and beauty in equal measure. It is a course that tests skill, rewards creativity, and leaves every golfer eager to return.

Most recently, the course underwent a significant renovation of its fairways and bunkers, led by Bruce Charlton, President of Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects. This project not only refreshed the course’s playability but also honored the original vision while enhancing its modern appeal.

General Information

Pace of Play

Jefferson Country Club is committed to providing an enjoyable golf experience for all members and guests. To ensure smooth play and respect for everyone’s time, the following pace of play guidelines apply:

  • A round of golf should be completed in 4 hours and 10 minutes or less.
  • Each player is responsible for maintaining proper pace of play for themselves and their group.
  • Groups are expected to remain in position with the group ahead. Falling behind pace requires players to make adjustments to return to position.
  • If your group falls significantly behind, you may be asked to pick up and proceed directly to the next tee.
  • Remember: If there is no one in front of you, and someone behind you — you are the problem.
